MEET HENRY
AGE: 5 | CONDITION: Down Syndrome and a Congenital Heart Defect
If the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital had a frequent flyer program, five-year-old Henry Caffet would be a VIP. Born with Down syndrome and a serious heart defect, Henry underwent open-heart surgery at just six months old. Since then, he has faced hearing loss, spinal instability, and several other health issues. Henry has received care from a wide range of specialists at JPCH — including cardiologists, audiologists, pediatricians, and orthopedic surgeons. Despite everything, he remains a joyful child, eagerly looking forward to starting grade one this fall.
“JPCH has been essential in keeping Henry happy and healthy through every challenge,” says his mom, Brittany. “It’s been a lifeline for our family. Having a world-class facility right here in Saskatchewan is a gift we will always be grateful for.”

The Rider Reading Program brings the excitement of game day to books, encouraging students to read while getting the chance to meet a Roughrider player — in person or virtually! We also deliver Win With Wellness, our mental health program that helps youth build resilience, manage stress, and understand the importance of mental wellness.
